How Many Times A Day Should You Workout?

Exercise is excellent for your health, but too much exercise can also be bad for you. Finding the medium point between too little and too much can be difficult. But to gain the most benefits from working out, it is crucial to find this balance in your life. So, how much exercise is too little? And how much exercise is too much? See below to find out!

The Effects of Too Little Exercise

When you do not exercise regularly, this can lead to weight gain, muscular atrophy, and a variety of health issues. Exercise is essential for optimum health. If you become too stagnant and do not move your body, then your bones and muscles will weaken, and your immunity can become compromised.

The Effects of Too Much Exercise

If you exercise too much, then you can actually injure your body and harm your health. Excessive exercise can lead to muscular strain, loss of energy, and nutritional deficiencies. Even though exercise is beneficial for you, too much of a good thing can be very bad for your health.

The Goldilocks Zone of Exercise

As described above, too little and too much exercise can be bad for you. So, to gain the most benefits from exercise, you need to come into a middle point and find balance in your life or find that Goldilocks zone. Every person has a different optimal amount of exercise that they should be engaging in, and if they do not reach this level, then it can lead to stagnancy. But if they pass this level, then this can lead to exhaustion and depletion. This practice is just like the situation that Goldilocks was in, in which she rejected the porridge that was too hot and too cold, in search of the porridge at just the right temperature.

Doctors generally recommend getting at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day. But this largely depends on your health goals. If you want to lose weight, then you may need more exercise than this. Even just 5 minutes of exercise every day can be beneficial for your health. So, if you cannot find a full 30 minutes, something is better than nothing.

The amount of exercise recommended depends mainly on your body type, your fitness goals, your current ability, and your ability to invest your time. By taking all of these factors into account, then you can find the optimum amount of workout time for you. For example, if you are heavier set and are looking to lose weight but you have limited current physical ability and limited time available, then you may be best suited to start slowly with a short time length of exercise but at a high level of intensity to gain the most benefits in the shortest amount of time. But the critical factor is to experiment with these amounts and find what works best for you.

Summary

Working out is a great way to improve your health, but too much of a good thing can also be bad for you. The best way to improve your health is to experiment with different amounts and intensities of exercise to find your body's limits and what works best for you. So, try incorporating exercise into your life today to start improving your health and finding your Goldilocks zone!

Thank you for this simple breakdown!

Even a little CONSISTENT exercise is far more beneficial than none or a lotta some timey!

May I add: From experience, with free weights at least, a rule of thumb for weight lifting is: When shaking begins during a rep, ya know that “Hnnngh aaaagh!” grunting moment, that’s the limit for the week. Rest at that weight or go a little lower to finish the set or risk causing more damage than gain.
Next week that “ceiling” weight will most likely become the new “floor”! Gains and results!

Question: Thoughts and feelings on WHEN is best to workout any gifted day?

Personally have found mornings for best results and effect, however, would very much enjoy YouR professional perspective.🙏😁
